NBA Jersey Size Guide: Fit, Measurements & Numbers

NBA SIZE GUIDEUrban Basketball · Culture / Street / City standalone preview · responsive

NBA · Basketball

Urban basketball, measured right.

Every chart on this page is an NBA chart, built from body measurements in inches and centimetres, men’s and women’s, from small to 3XL. The basketball cut runs standard through the chest with a hem that sits lower than a soccer shirt, so matching your chest once is all it takes.

Sizing help by email

Order first, worry later. Not sure between two sizes? Place the order with the size you think is right, then send your height, chest and waist measurements through the order message or by email to fanservice2026@outlook.com. We check every sizing request against the charts on this page before the parcel is packed, and swap the size if a different one suits you better. You end up with the size that fits, not the size you guessed.

Know your cut

The basketball cut

Cut: standard, with a longer hem

Sleeveless by design, with a hem that sits lower than most football shirts and a shoulder line that stays close to standard. Nothing to size around — match your chest and you are done.

Basketball sits in the middle of the six leagues we stock: closer to the body than a football or hockey shirt, roomier than a soccer one. The NBA jerseys we carry keep that shoulder line and that longer hem, so the size you already wear is the size to order.

Men’s NBA chart

Men's NBA — standard through the chest, hem sits lower than a soccer jersey.

Size	Chest — in	Chest — cm	Body length — in	Body length — cm	Shoulder — in
S	37–39	94–99	28.5	72	17
M	39–41	99–104	29.5	75	18
L	41–43	104–109	30.5	77	19
XL	43–46	109–117	31.5	80	20
2XL	46–49	117–124	32.5	83	21
3XL	49–52	124–132	33.5	85	22

The shoulder column is the fastest way to sanity-check the fit: if your shoulder measurement lands on a row but your chest sits in the row below, trust the chest. Sleeveless shirts show a tight shoulder line immediately.

Women’s sizing

Women’s NBA chart

Women's NBA — sleeveless, contoured, with a shorter hem.

M	35–37	89–94	27	69
L	37–40	94–102	27.5	70
XL	40–43	102–109	28	71
2XL	43–46	109–117	28.5	72

Youth NBA chart

Youth sizing, by height

Youth kit is not a shrunken adult shirt — the shoulders and chest come in far narrower, which is why a youth XL is a poor stand-in for a small adult. Youth sizing runs by age band rather than by league, so the scale below is a single youth guide that covers every NBA shirt we carry. Read the height column first, then confirm with the chest.

Youth sizing — body measurements, height first, chest second.

Size	Height — in	Height — cm	Chest — in	Chest — cm	Waist — in	Waist — cm	Hip — in	Hip — cm
S	50–53	127–135	27	69	23.5	60	27.5	70
M	54–60	137–152	28.5–30	72–76	25–26	64–66	29.5–31.5	75–80
L	61–63	155–160	32	81	27	69	33.5	85
XL	65–68	165–173	35–37	89–94	29–30	74–76	37.5–39.5	95–100

The jersey measured flat

The youth jersey is also measured laid flat rather than worn. The garment range runs in two bands — S/M and L/XL — which is why this second table has two rows against the four above, instead of a line for every letter. Garment figures always read wider than body figures, so do not compare a number across the two tables.

Youth jersey measured flat — garment figures, not body figures.

Size	Chest — in / cm	Shoulder — in / cm	Length — in / cm	Sleeve — in / cm
S/M	36 / 91	17 / 43	23.75 / 60	18.75 / 48
L/XL	40 / 102	19 / 48	26.5 / 67	19.75 / 50

Between youth and adult

Youth XL tops out at 165–173 cm of height and a 35–37" chest. Past that, a men’s small gives you the extra body and sleeve length a youth XL cannot — see the men’s chart.

Where to look: height picks the youth size, then chest confirms it. A child sitting near the top of a row will grow out of the shirt long before they wear it out — take the next size up rather than counting on a stretch.

Straight answers

Sizing questions

How do I work out my NBA size from scratch?

Measure your chest, then read the row for it in the men’s or women’s chart above. Basketball shirts are sleeveless and cut standard through the chest, so the chest measurement settles the letter on its own — the body-length column tells you where the hem will finish, not which size to take.

My measurement sits between two rows. Which way do I go?

Up. The extra half inch disappears into a relaxed basketball cut, and a longer hem reads as the standard street look rather than a mistake. The one league where you should stay on your true size instead is hockey, where the cut is already very generous.

Are these charts in inches or centimetres?

Both. Every measurement column appears twice, once in inches and once in centimetres, so you can work in whichever unit your tape uses without converting anything in your head. The figures match after rounding to the nearest centimetre.

Men’s or women’s cut?

Women’s jerseys are shaped through the waist and finish higher on the hip; men’s jerseys run straight and boxy. Choosing the men’s cut for the oversized look is a style decision, not a sizing mistake. If you normally wear a women’s size and switch to the men’s chart, go down one size.

I ordered the wrong size. What happens now?
